PBS’s The Art Assignment

this is a guest blog post i did for a humanities class for College of Menominee Nation. seriously, WATCH THE ART ASSIGNMENT.

okay, so PBS is doing this thing called The Art Assignment, which is basically translating and making accessibly new media art (like performance art).

(which are all, by-the-by, considered conceptual art.)

(because conceptual art is the default art-making method in the 21st century, just sayin’, but what constitutes conceptual art is really divergent.)

THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO HAPPEN IN THE DEMYSTIFICATION OF ART SINCE ART 21.

but, ya know, in 10 minute chunks and hosted by Sarah Green (for those of you who have ever watched the vlogbrothers, you’ll recognize Sarah Green as The Yeti,  John Green‘s wife).

seriously, original new media art in a web 2.0 setting.

they are literally explaining how new media art works for people who think that art is painting and that’s it.

I AM SO EXCITED.  IT’S SO GOOD.  IT’S ABOUT FREAKIN’…
