drive-by halloween update–now with horns!

i totally have clown-fear.

okay, first things first, WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT YEAR WHEN MY SKETCH-A-DAY RUNS OUT?  should there be another sketch-a-day?  a year-long inktober?  (idk about that one.)  more videos?  WHAT ARE Y’ALL’S OPINIONS ON THE THING?!?!?

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE MORE OF?!?!?!?

so, yeah, super-busy.  click the play button on the video to find out all about it, because–boy-howdy–it’s kinda epic in the busy-ness.

and, there is totally a NaNoWriMo pep talk hidden in that video.  and comic recs.

and an epic squee about carmilla and the amaze that is LaF.

and, i totally have new stuff up on my redbubble.

and, y’all should definitely check out my inktober album on flickr.

I HAVE BEEN BEE-LIKE.

and, i’ve gotten further along in the my little pony piece for the pop culture show.

so, i have one more pony (fluttershy) and spike to design, and then i can do the thing where i paint.

*IS NOT IN ANYWAY, SHAPE, OR FORM HYPERVENTILATING*

i have, however, already finished khoshekh.

welcome to night vale: khoshehk

i’m sorry i’m in a hurry today.  trick-or-treaters and all.

i do have a couple of other videos that y’all might be interested in:

and, as always, there’s always my writing over at The Rainbow Hub.

if you like what i do video-wise or art-wise, maybe consider doing the thing where you become my patron on patreon.  i have nifty prizes that i never get to use.

okay.  spoopy and candy and costumes–GO!

courage.

and–i have a cold

and, about a million and four things to do.

i’m sorry that it’s bee so long, again; the boss has been hiring a swath of new writers for The Hub, and my editor duties went up as well as me being not in full control of my faculties and having added more articles to my list of writer duties, the continuation of sketch-a-day, preparing for the Pop Culture Show at the ARTgarage in january, and–because i needed more things to do–inktober.

and, nanowrimo’s coming up fast.

did i mention my sketchbook project is due in january too?

yep, i’m just brilliant.

why do i do this to myself?!?!?!

I HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLY BUSY; I’M SO SORRY.

i’m not even kidding.  between moving out of my studio at the ARTgarage, The Hub shenanigans (including a podcast–WE DID OUR FIRST PODCAST!), a really important commission (more below), and my own projects like projecTransparency and the sketch-a-day project–ears, y’all, up to my pointed little ears.

it’s kind of a nice change of pace.

now, if i could only manage to do things like go to the grocer or, ya know, other adulting-type things.

I AM ADULT DEFICIENT.

so–commission.  i just sent off the variety of sizes of the file this morning after wonder why did i become so adept at photoshop?  (protip:  i’m not.  i just like to pretend that i am.)  but, it’s for geonn cannon’s the rise and fall of radiation canary, and the novel is amazing.

and, i think my design is pretty amazing too.

Radiation Canary - Rainmakers for Wizards Summer Tour '06

and, it’s available as a shirt–and other goods–over here on redbubble.

y’all should buy shirts.  i’ve already been paid, so i say this as someone who just REALLY WANTS ONE FOR THEMSELVES.

…i didn’t think to put I GET A FREAKIN’ SHIRT in the contract.  oh, well.  live and learn.

i’ve also been sketch-a-day-ing it up with cecaelia and–my little pony.

i also updated the cephalabun and did a funko-inspired yona from snowpiercer sketch, which i kind of adore.

i’m actually thinking about making my piece for the ARTgarage’s pop culture show in january be a polyptych of  the core group from my little pony:  friendship is magic.  *hands*

i have also set up my patreon completely.  there are perks and milestones, and i’m even remembering to post patron-only content.

sooooooooooooooo, if you’d like to support me and my endeavor, there ya go, and here’s my intro video to it (as well as the other videos i’ve been forgetting to post because i suck):

there might be more?  maybe?  i don’t really know.

i did say that i have been horribly remiss.

okay.  things to do; art to make; lootcrate toys to play with.

courage.

so–embroidery.

Yeah, if y’all follow me, like, anywhere else, you may have noticed that i’ve been doing some work with embroidery.

Which is absolutely ridiculous because–have y’all met me?  I can’t sit still.  I don’t have the patience for hand-stitching.

THERE’S A REASON WHY I DIDN’T LEARN THIS AS A KID.

But–here I am.  Embroidering.

Slowly.

Agonizingly slow.

Who thought that this was remotely a good idea, because I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me.

I DIDN’T SIGN UP FOR THIS.

But, yeah.  Embroidery.

Here’s what I’ve been (slow, slow, double-super, triple-thick slow) working on.

IDEK, there was these really neat My Little Pony fanart pieces–Yes, My Little Pony.  Don’t judge.–that kinda started this image.

Along with being cracked and part of both The Welcome to Night Vale and Hannibal fandoms.

I’m not sure that’s a good mix?

Especially, when this piece also came out of the same sketching session.

The Voice of Night Vale (in-progress)

This piece was inspired by this really neat Welcome to Night Vale/Good Morning Desert Bluffs Cecil and Kevin piece.

I–may have gone a little more Kevin than Cecil.

*hands*

Sorry-not-sorry.

I mean, I’m making progress, yeah?

beginning sketch and barely-started piece for The Voice of Night Vale

But, the idea is to embroider on things that are not normally embroidered upon:  handmade paper, sketchbook paper, paintings, monoprints.

ALL THE THINGS.

…I may have ideas for embroidery on metal.  Like, as a non-decorative, additive, cold-connection thing like here:

taxonomy: Audrey III
2006
cold-forged copper (patinaed and/or gessoed and painted), fiber,
embroidery thread, found object
Katrina (‘Trie) Blasingame

But, to be, like, the actual piece.

So.  That’s a thing to watch for?

As always, I’ve been doing the writing thing for The Rainbow Hub.

I’m currently reviewing Sleepy Hollow and Agents of SHIELD in addition to my film reviews and the BAMF Women Super-Heroes series.

So, yeah.

Courage.
