first thing the first: the featured image doesn’t really have anything to do with this post–okay, that’s not entirely true because i’ll have prints of this illustration of the glorious gilmore casting disintegrate available at plattecon this weekend.
so, i’m heading out to AMKE in, like, an hour.
i’m going to be vending in the artist alley in booth E2, so y’all should stop by and see me.
*quietly freaks the fuck out*
so, yeah, anime milwaukee is literally seven days away, and i am in an epic panic because, ya know, i’m a panicky little squid.
(some of this might be because matt mercer, marisha ray, laura bailey, and travis willingham from critical role are guesting at AMKE? so, i might get to meet them?)
for those of you just joining the show, i’m your host ‘trie (sounds like “tree”), and i’m a mixed media, conceptual artist and writer who has recently become a con-kid/exhibitor, doesn’t like capitalization, and lives in the backwoods of wisconsin.
which makes being a con-kid and an artist a little bit difficult.
at least the trees recognize me as one of their own.
okay, so this month–this year–has been super-rough on me (really, on all of us), so things have not moved apace the ways that i might have wanted.
that being said, this is not that kind of post: this is a collection of the bits and bobs i’ve enjoyed this year, the events that have been super-cool, and the things that need to be celebrated.
but! that’s not actually why i’m here today. i’m here–bugging y’all during the capitalist height of the year–to tell y’all that i’m actually at a con this weekend! (like, i’m literally on the road now.) i’m at pop culture con in st. charles. it’s a nes con, but i think it might be fun.
svengoolie’s gonna be there, so it’s got potential?
see y’all this weekend.
i have finally emerged from my post-nerdcon: stories collapse! (it involves living in a blanket-fort, being trapped by a very angry murder-machine, ordering supplies, and being super-behind in ALL THE THINGS, so it’s super-exciting but imperative because cons are a lot a lot of emotional labor as well as physical and mental labor. my spoons: they are few and far betweeeeeeeeeeeen.)
gentle reminder: if y’all saw anything at nerdcon–or, really, any cons that y’all have attended that i’ve been at–that you have a MIGHTY NEED for and it’s not up on my storenvy or etsy, just send me an email, and i will ensure that your MIGHTY NEED is filled.
or, if you’ve found yourself needing one of my pieces as a shirt of something, let me know, and i can clean it up and post it to my redbubble.
i’m also going to be changing my patreon rewards up, so they’ll be coming down for a bit while i re-sort them.
now, to the actually important stuff!
first things the first, nerdcon: stories was excellent, and there is even noises that we might get a third one, so DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE.
NERDCON: STORIES IS FRIDAY! \o/
gnome and i leave tomorrow morning for load-in and set-up, and i’m having a bit of a THING because i always do~
but, before i do the talky-talky about nerdcon: stories, i wanted to thank everyone who came to the first annual brown country library comic con and thank the library for letting me participate!
i’m vending at brown county library comic con is this saturday from 10-4!
this is completely wacky and wild and should be a good time, and there are gonna be food trucks (the really good gyros are coming, omg), and there’s gonna be tabletop games and cosplaying and mario kart and local artists–yeah!
and, it’s free to attend!
miles of art is, like, tomorrow, so yeah, i’m going to be at woodland studios all weekend with my art (and woodbody’s and ben’s), but if you’d like a preview (or if you can’t go), ben created one of those 360 not-video things of the exhibit.
it’s pretty swank.
and, on to other things! including brown county library’s comic con.
*tra lala la la*
