so–lion con is this weekend in st. cloud!
i’m particularly pleased with vending at this con again because last year was its first year, which was an excellent if exhausting time, and this year is shaping up to be even better, so yay on justin and katie for making it happen again!

hi, y’all, it’s been forever and ever and ever, but it has not all be for naught! because i’ve been doing things like restructuring my patreon, formalizing my commissions, preparing for cons, and doing the writing thing (with potential ‘zines in the offing) bc i WILL have a completed a glittering venery novel-thing at some point, i swear.
(if you’re interested in reading some of what i’ve already written with deeply questionable editing, check the writing & books menu, or y’all could just click here.)
so–FIRST THING THE FIRST!
kitsune kon is this weekend in green bay, and i will be there, my intrepid cephalopods. so, if you’re gonna be there, come by and see me!

so, first things the first.
ANIMINNEAPOLIS IS THIS WEEKEND!
so, yeah, i’m going to be heading out shortly so that i can set-up tonight. i’ve got loads of things, but mostly, i have a bunch of new 1″ buttons because i’m a weirdo.
(i particularly fond of the “twee as fuck” and the “gender terrorist” ones.)
but, yeah, come and see me and maybe buy some things.

so, because no oddcon because REASONS, i’m volunteering at untitled town this weekend.
untitled town is basically a free writers/readers con (or book festival) that’s happening in green bay at a number of venues. there are panels and talks and a write-in and sherman alexie and margaret atwood.
it starts to night at the meyer backstage (with people who include someone i went to grad school with), so maybe y’all would like to come out and play.
so–there’s all sorts of shenanigans happening in the world of odyssey con (oddcon) right now, which i would direct y’all to go read up about it here, here, here, here, and here. i’m sure that there are other accounts and think-pieces and such, but these are the core accounts that i ran across.
in short, i’m not going to be vending at oddcon because of these shenanigans.

okay, okay, okay. i know i’m always on drive-by, and it sucks with a capital SUCKS. this is what happens when you’re a sickly squid who’s had cons and colds and epic familial visits all happen this month alone. (they say as they’re trying not to hork at the moment. fun times.)
honestly, there’s only so much of me to go around on the best of days, and this is that annoying transition part of the year which, for me, are not remotely the best of days.
now–on to actually important, relevant things, yeah?

first thing the first: the featured image doesn’t really have anything to do with this post–okay, that’s not entirely true because i’ll have prints of this illustration of the glorious gilmore casting disintegrate available at plattecon this weekend.
Continue reading the never-endingness of cons, i.e., plattecon is tomorrow
so, i’m heading out to AMKE in, like, an hour.
i’m going to be vending in the artist alley in booth E2, so y’all should stop by and see me.
*quietly freaks the fuck out*
Continue reading drive-by: leaving for #AMKE
so, yeah, anime milwaukee is literally seven days away, and i am in an epic panic because, ya know, i’m a panicky little squid.
(some of this might be because matt mercer, marisha ray, laura bailey, and travis willingham from critical role are guesting at AMKE? so, i might get to meet them?)
Continue reading #AMKE is a week away, or i multi-classed in panicking
for those of you just joining the show, i’m your host ‘trie (sounds like “tree”), and i’m a mixed media, conceptual artist and writer who has recently become a con-kid/exhibitor, doesn’t like capitalization, and lives in the backwoods of wisconsin.
which makes being a con-kid and an artist a little bit difficult.
at least the trees recognize me as one of their own.
